Welcome to 2013

Congrats and welcome to 2013! We have passed all the assumption that the world going to end on 21st Dec 2012 and went with the flow. Me and J thought how if is truly true and no matter what happened, we planned to stick and die together wherever we are. During the period, lot of rumors when through Facebook.

Two China guys build ark and survival pod during the period. People start to assume Mayans prediction might be wrong but if you observe clearly, the Mayans didn't invent the calendar, it was used by most cultures in pre-Columbian Central America  including the Maya from around 2000 BC to the 16th century. The Mayan civilization developed the calendar further and it's still in use in some Maya communities today. People blamed the Doomsday theory went wrong with Apocalypse Predictions.

Whatever it is, I was working through the day and till end of the year in office. I told myself either if Doomsday arrived, I can proudly labelled myself dying in office with my laptop :P Yet, another part of my brain missed my parents and J. The only thing I wish that time to meet my loved one and Doomsday shouldn't happened until i turned 70! God grant my wishes! After the Doomsday rumors, my sister called me on 25th December and say do something good and positive on 26 December 2012 as there is new Planet called Planet X is going to change the solar system which lead good vibes to human kind. I was kind of awkard and start to look for a theory in You Tube and found below video interesting :

No matter what, i manage to arrived in 2013 and thanking god to make us human kind alive! My plan for 2013? Below are my list :

1) Practicing Yoga frequently.
2) Spend qualities time with family and friends.
3) Involve myself in more proactive with people and whatever surrounding me.
4) Settle down in life (house, relationship, career)
5) A good vacation.
6) Etc.

How about you? Had you plan your 2013? If no, please do plan it now and work for it. If yes, congrats and go with the flow! Wishing a good and healthy 2013 to everyone (I know i'm late for New Year wish after two months but it is good to remind everyone that we are in 2013) Welcome everyone! :)

Finger Press Massage, Shiatsu

Massage is a common way to relieve stress, tiredness and muscle tension. Shiatsu is a unique Japanese style of massage which treats the same meridian system of the body used in acupuncture. Shiatsu, 'shi', meaning finger, and 'atsu', meaning pressure. The massage therapy aims at treating the common psychological and physical problems faced by people, by applying slight force on the pressure points. In this context, it can also be considered as the Japanese counterpart of  'acupressure', which is popular in China. The massage therapy can help treat depression, anxiety, nausea, stiffness, headaches, arthritis, cramps, and pulled muscles.

Below are some interesting diagrams with explanation where you can perform self massage with shiatsu system :

Do - in (self shiatsu!)

A fantastic self-treatment to release tension at the end of the day, or to energize yourself in the morning!
  • Standing up, feet hips width apart, knees unlocked
  • "Rain drops" over the top of your head , with your fingertips, keeping your wrists loose. Move your head around so your whole head gets a massage.
  • Forward neck stretch : Tilt head forward and interlace your hands behind your occiput. Use the weight of your hands to get more of a stretch.
  • Side neck stretch : still looking ahead, tilt your head to the right side, and place your right hand over your head. Use the weight of your hand to get more of a stretch, whilst reaching away with your left hand. Same other side.
  • Shoulder massage : tilt your head to the right, and apply loose fists / karate chops on top of left shoulder.
  • Loose fists down the inside of arms, and up the outside , to encourage the flow of energy in the 3 yin (inner) arm meridians and the 3 yang (outer) arm meridians. A couple of times on each arm.
  • Repeat other side
  • Shake out your arms and sigh loudly!
  • Loose fists on chest and around ribcage
  • Gentle loose fists down muscles of lower back
  • Rub sacrum with knuckles , moving your body up and down.
  • Fists on buttocks (can take a lot of pressure!)
  • Fists down outer sides of legs and up inside of the legs , to encourage flow of energy in the 3 yang (outer) leg meridians and 3 yin (inner) leg meridians.
  • Shake out legs and arms !
